Your table image is defined by the amount of action you have been giving and the quality of your hands that have been displayed to the table at showdowns. This will determine how much pay-off you receive from your big hands and how much weight your bluffs will carry. For example, a tight player will most likely command more respect from a raise or re-raise but will tend to get paid less on a big hand. You must always stay aware of your table image and, if necessary, change gears if you think your game has become too tight or too loose.

If lots of players consistently call your pre-flop raises then you are either on a very loose table or your raises are not gaining any respect due to having too loose a table image. You must tighten up for a while and start with premium hands only. Try and stay aware of your opponents games to recognise when they have changed gears also.
