Five card stud is no longer a popular mainstream variation of poker. This is because compared to other game it is rather simplistic as you will see in our five card stud rules section below.
You are dealt 2 cards, one is face up and one face down for only you to see. There is now a round of betting. Then each player is dealt another face up card and there is another round of betting. The fourth card is now dealt face up for all to see and ensues another round of betting. The fifth and final card is dealt face down for your eyes only, there is a final round of betting and the person with the best 5 card poker hand wins.
5 Card stud is a more basic form of poker because it is relatively easy to see the players hand and its strength and thus to bet accordingly. Bluffing is more rare as there are only 2 cards that you can see that your opponents cannot.
